A week in the Big Apple.
In the city that never sleeps New York is one of the most captivating places in the world, packed with amazing cultures and architecture. Spending a week with my friend Amy we explored the city and tried not to get lost.
Hosting a wide range of historical significant architecture, I just had to go and visit as many of these amazing structures as possible.
Designed by Santiago Calatrava the new World Transportation Hub was completed in 2016 and hosts 125 retail spaces with links to the NY Subway. Costing $4 billion dollars the structures interior of white ribs interlocking overhead creates a unique and sleek modern interior.

The MET designed by Richard Morris Hunt in 1902. The Gothic Revival-style building is now home to thousands of art pieces across 2 million square feet. This grand building now hosts the annual MET Gala in the month of May to fundraise for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute.
With an average of 250,000 people people visiting the Brooklyn Bridge everyday it was definitely not a sight to miss. Designed in the Gothic Revival architecture seen within its stone arches design, it was seen as the worlds first steelier suspension bridge with both horizontal and diagonal support cables.
Washington Square arch is situated in Greenwich Village, lower Manhattan. The marble arch that is seen today was erected in 1892 and was the replacement for the earlier1889 wooden arch, built to celebrate the centennial of President George Washington. The structure now brings in 12 million visitors a year.
On our last day we visited the refurbished space below the Brooklyn Bridge now called The Empire Stores which hosts a range of local artisan food delis. As we left we came across the famous local Janes Carousel with its new addition of a glass exterior designed by Jean Nouvel, allowing the carousel to be enjoyed in all weathers.
With trips as well to the Rockefeller Centre, Flatiron Building, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island we also managed to take a short trip to Hoboken as Carlos Bakery was one we just couldn't miss.
